Am I Building Up Or Tearing Down?

direction_photo-1468091730376-d3b5558b71abThe wise woman builds her house (on a foundation of Godly precepts, and her household thrives). But the foolish one (who lacks spiritual insight) tears it down with her own hands (by ignoring godly principles).  Proverbs 14:1  AMP

The same concept could apply to how we care for our bodies and overall health!  Wisdom, knowledge and understanding, coupled with discipline and restraint are key attributes necessary for success

1st Corinthians 10:13 AMP says, “No temptation (regardless of its source) has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience (nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance); but God is faithful (to His word- He is compassionate and trustworthy), and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability (to resist), but along with the temptation He (has in the past and is now and ) will (always) provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it (without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy).” However, the key is not to ignore or disregard the assistance the Holy Spirit provides!

Temptation and a desire to satisfy our flesh, is common to mankind; knowing your level of strength and restraint will always be the monumental task at hand! Often our struggle to maintain a healthy lifestyle can seem difficult and sometimes hopeless, but, it doesn’t have to be. Seeking the assistance of others such as, a medical professional, spouse or support circle and yes; the Holy Spirit can make the difference in our attaining a level of success.

I’m reminded of a class I took years ago that challenged me to look at the real reason I made such unhealthy decisions concerning my eating.  What was my hunger really for? Do I live to eat or eat to live?  Thank God for the “Way of Escape” program, then and now.

Well, this is just some food for thought!  I would love to hear some of your ideas on how you’re managing your healthy lifestyle journey!
