The Plan

gift-habeshaw-517714-unsplashIf you’re anything like me, this is one of the worst feelings in the world: You feel lost, and unsure of yourself…and you possibly feel like a failure since things didn’t go the way you intended them to. That’s a hard thing to get over, feeling you let yourself down.

Jeremiah 29:11 says:

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you

and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Believing in this brings me great comfort. God’s plans may not always coincide with mine, but I know His will for my life is far greater than what I could ever plan. He has plans for me to prosper, not to fail. Even in situations that feel too heavy for us to bare, His plans are not to harm us, but to give us hope and strength to strive for a better future.

So while I’ll continue to plan and chart out my life, I’ll continue to give God praise for when things don’t go quite as planned. Why? Because I know every bump in the road is of the Master’s plan, and while I may not necessarily like it, I know something better is waiting for me right around the corner.

I’ll even go one step further and thank God that His plans are at times way different than my own. While I think I know what’s best for my life, sometimes my plans are not always in my best interest. God’s plan for our lives is always in our best interest and is — exceedingly and abundantly — more than what we could ever come up with on our own.

Until Next Time,

Maya
