The COVID-19 pandemic has presented all of us with an extremely challenging and unprecedented time. We must be careful not to become mesmerized and overwhelmed by news reports about the coronavirus. While we look to the news for information, as Christians we’re to trust God in all things. He’s sovereign and all-powerful. God is in control of everything. Challenging times demand you place your trust in God.
Throughout Scripture, the Bible instructs us to trust God. Proverbs 3:5 says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart.” When we trust God, we have His promise to direct our paths (Proverbs 3:6). The thing about trust is that it implies a wait. In times of uncertainty while you’re waiting for God to move, keep reminding yourself of God’s faithfulness in the past. Trust God through the process and know He’s working on your behalf. Rest assured, your now won’t last forever.
Trusting God is not without reward. God vows to keep you in perfect peace when you place your trust in Him (Isaiah 26:3). God declares, “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is” (Jeremiah 17:7). Trusting God allows Him to reveal more of himself and His purpose and plans for your life. Use this time to seek God’s will for your life. What is it He wants you to do? God has plans and secrets He desires to reveal to you. Write down each nugget of revelation He imparts to you. Habakkuk 2:2 says to, “Write the vision, make it plain upon tables.” When you write out your vision it gives God something to agree with here on earth. Use this season to your advantage.
God is greater than any challenges you may be facing. Though the challenges may be great, the plans God has for you are for good and not evil. They’re meant to give you a future and hope (Jeremiah 29:11). There is absolutely nothing too difficult for God. He hasn’t forgotten you. Psalm 9:10 says, “And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.” There’s power in the name of Jesus. Call on Jesus and trust Him to see you through. Jesus will never fail you.
