I do not know about you but there have been times in my life when I threw in the towel. What gets on my nerves about God is when I throw in the towel, He always throws the towel right back at me. Even the strongest of Christians experience times when they want to quit. God knows we will grow weary at times. That is why the Bible says not to be weary in well doing for we shall reap if we do not faint (Galatians 6:9).
The passage of time can begin to gnaw at your faith. Satan wants you to think time is your enemy and is in short supply. On the contrary, time is the incubator for the manifestation of God’s promises. It is not too late. God is not absent-minded. He has not abandoned or forgotten about you. What concerns you concerns God. At the proper time, God will release your blessing.
I Corinthians 9:24 says, “Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.” In this verse Paul likens our Christian walk to a marathon race that requires discipline, endurance, and perseverance. Upon salvation, we were entered into this race. Unlike races we are accustomed to, all who enter this race will win. If you have grown weary, stay the course. Now is not the time to give up. Why quit when you have the victory? Winners never quit!
Philippians 1:6 assures of God faithfulness to complete the good work He started in you. It takes time to work things out on your behalf. Your job is to seek God’s will and hold onto His unchanging hand. In the process it is crucial to keep your spiritual battery charged. Connect daily with the Lord and allow Him to replenish you. God has anointed and empowered you for every challenge that comes your way. You are anointed to persevere, not quit.
During this season, it is imperative that you talk to and encourage yourself in the Lord. Read and study your Bible. Intercessory prayer, praise, and worship are critical for your endurance. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you overcome debilitating thoughts and habits that keep you mired in doubt. Distance yourself from negative people and stay connected with positive goal-oriented people.
Rest assured the wait is not as long as it has been. You are destined to win the race God has set before you my brothers and sisters. The going may get rough at times but expect to come out on top. Envision yourself beyond your now. Remind yourself of all the times God worked things out in the past. God did it before and He is faithful to come through for you again. You have come too far to give up now. The prize for this race is imminent. It is available to all, not just a select few. God Himself is the reward. With Him comes healing and deliverance, restoration, and wholeness, peace, joy, and blessings. Keep the faith. Keep working. Keep pressing. Keep believing.
Until next time…Be blessed!
